Frauscher Connect is a versatile connectivity manager for all Frauscher systems, offering various connectivity options and secure communication based on EULYNX and System Pillar standards. It enables open network communication in compliance with CENELEC cat. 3 standards and ensures secure, non-reactive data transfer from OT to IT networks.
Extensive options for secure communication
Data diode for network separation
Simple and flexible configuration
OPC-UA aggregator
Standardized EULYNX interfaces: SSI, SDI, SMI
Frauscher Connect ensures secure and reliable communication between Frauscher object controllers and signaling systems. It manages the secure transmission of commands and messages, diagnostic and maintenance data, and security services for Frauscher subsystems, intended for purposes such as train detection and point control.
Frauscher Connect provides multiple security options, including TLS over TCP and OPC-UA communication, as well as tunneling for system to train detection system connections. It's simple and flexible configuration allows it to function as a connection manager for Frauscher train detection and point object controllers, efficiently handling multiple connections.
Frauscher Connect is a dedicated connectivity manager for all Frauscher systems, including the Point Control and Train Detection systems. It is responsible for the establishment of secure communication over open networks with external systems and Frauscher Insights.
Ensuring safety and security in railway operations is crucial: Frauscher Connect supports category 3 networks as per EN 50159, integrating advanced cyber security measures to safeguard data. Utilizing Ethernet-based communication reduces the need for extensive cabling, thereby cutting installation time and costs while streamlining the entire process.
The OPC-UA protocol is used to enable the transmission of diagnostic data to Maintenance and Data Management servers. Application specific communication is structured according to a Standardized Diagnostic Interface data model and ensures a systematic and efficient exchange of information.
Furthermore, the OPC-UA standard is used to enable the transmission of maintenance data for updates, patches or new configuration files from an MDM server to the object controller. If no MDM server is available a local MDM software provided by Frauscher can take over this role.
Data diodes enforce the unidirectional transmission of data and ensure a secure transfer from the OT network to the IT network without the risk of data leaks or cyber attacks from the IT side back to the OT network. Using this approach, Frauscher Connect warrants the integrity and security of critical railway operations while enabling the necessary data flow for preventive and predictive analyses. This in turn results in efficient maintenance, lower life cycle costs and smoother operations.
