Presence, direction, speed, wheel diameter: Frauscher wheel sensors reliably collect both fail-safe information up to SIL 4 and output that supports operations. Their high availability results from robust design, high-quality components and extremely reliable technology.
Use for applications up to SIL 4
Highest availability and reliability
Low maintenance and life cycle costs
Simple commissioning
Quick installation without drilling
Variable application options
Thanks to their compact and robust design, Frauscher wheel sensors capture required information such as axle traversing, direction, wheel center pulse and speed, even in the most adverse climatic, technical, and operational conditions. As a result, they can be used in a variety of applications, customized solutions, and adapted to individual project requirements.
Our advanced wheel detection system ensures reliable identification and monitoring of train wheels. The analog signals captured at the tracks are processed via evaluation boards – reliable and with precision. The advantage? No active electronic components are required on track. With optimal coordination between the evaluation board and Frauscher wheel sensors, you can design and implement applications that meet SIL 4 compliant safety standards.
Frauscher wheel sensors can be mounted on the inside of the track in a matter of minutes using our rail claws, without drilling, bonds, or complex tools. Rail integrity is not affected, and the rail claw can be utilized regardless of rail shape.
Additional advantage: The electronic units that evaluate the analog sensor signals are installed in protected outdoor cabinets along the track, or directly in the interlocking room. No electronics are required in the trackside connection box, which significantly increases the system's resistance to negative environmental influences.
Explore the fascinating technology behind wheel sensors! Positioned directly on railway tracks, these wheel sensors play a vital role in maintaining the safety and availability of train operations by detecting the flanges of train wheels. Wheel sensors enable the real-time and precise activation and deactivation of various railway systems, highlighting their significance in the rail industry.
