FTVS works hand in hand with the Wheel Sensor RSR110 – our industry tested solution for non-vital axle counting applications. To convert the analogue sensor signals into digital output, the FTVS utilises the Wheel Signal Converter WSC. The Wheel Counting Board WCB component of this cost-effective system can provide information on the occupation status of certain track sections.
Like all Frauscher solutions, FTVS works reliably under the most adverse conditions: extreme temperatures, flooding, ice and snow or dust have no effect on performance. The system also impresses with its long maintenance intervals: calibration is only necessary once every two years.

This axle counting solution can be used for a variety of applications:
As a standalone system or overlay to an existing system. It can even be used as a "spot fix" for problem areas in difficult environmental conditions, or where track and/or ballast have deteriorated. The FTVS is also ideal in tight spaces such as around switch points, that can make use of other train detection equipment difficult or impossible.

Due to its space-saving DIN rail mount, the axle counter FTVS requires a small footprint in wayside enclosures. Thereby it is suitable for installation in tight spaces.
For greater safety, calibration can be carried out via the Wheel Sensor Controller – eliminating the need to spend time on track.
Reduced track time and increased safety for personnel is also achieved during installation of the sensor: It is mounted using the patented Frauscher rail claw and attached to the rail in minutes, without drilling or bonds, while the plug-in cables reduces installation time even further.
Diagnostics on demand
In addition to various types of operationally relevant information, FTVS also provides valuable diagnostic data. The data for this is supplied by the Wheel Sensor Converter WSC and the Wheel Counting Boards WCB. The information obtained is available locally via the Frauscher Service Display ASD or can be integrated into higher-level diagnostic systems via the serial interface.
