About Frauscher

Founded in 1987 as „Frauscher Sensortechnik GmbH“ (German for: “Frauscher Sensor Technology”), innovation, progress and continuous development have always been a part of our DNA and our strategy. As a global technology and market leader, we constantly set new benchmarks and standards with our products and solutions. These include, for example, the patented Frauscher rail claw or our wheel sensors with an arrangement of sensor systems along the rail. We also took on a pioneering role in the industry by implementing the first software interfaces into our products - a position that we are constantly expanding. Almost 40 years later, we are still pioneers in solutions for wheel detection and axle counting. However, our capabilities extend well beyond this - our portfolio has grown, our offering has changed, and our positioning has evolved significantly.

How we started

We started solely as a component supplier, offering wheel sensors and axle counters.

How we developed

Within ten years we transformed into a solution provider, setting benchmarks by implementing software interfaces and digital tools.

Today we’re the trusted partner for railways to optimally operate their networks with confidence, based on technological excellence and individual services.

10% of our turnover is channelled into research and development every year. We constantly strive to optimise existing products and meet the growing demands of the rail industry with completely new, cutting-edge solutions. We not only ensure that our products are always the best on the market, but we also actively aim to shape the future of the railway industry. Today, we deliver the world’s most reliable train detection and wayside object control solutions – as well as much more. We provide software, connectivity and data access solutions, supported by smart life cycle services.
