Data Platform Engineer

Your main roles and responsibilities

• Become part of our global Data & AI team within the digitalization team and pave our way towards a data-inspired company 

• Improve and extend the current Data & AI infrastructure with a focus on Azure Cloud and Databricks

• Actively shape the architecture of the data platform by integrating innovative ideas from the quickly developing Data & AI technologies 

• Maintain our Data & AI tech stack by extending our setup with security measures including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), monitoring, auditing, policies, and data traceability

• Build tools, templates, and processes (e.g. CI/CD) for efficient data ingestion and management

• Serve as the go to person for Data Scientists and Data Engineers, enabling them to utilize the platform effectively and adapt the features to evolving business needs

You are just right for this role if

• you have proven experience in building secure and scalable data platforms using cloud technologies, with a focus on security, networking and authentication 

• you have expertise in cloud architectures on hyperscalers like Azure or AWS

• you have proficiency in container technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes

• you are familiar with CI/CD (preferably GitLab) and have a hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform

• you have a strong understanding of Databricks / Spark, data lakes as well as SQL- and NoSQL databases

• you already have knowledge of distributed systems development and operation

• you have proficiency in programming languages like Python or SQL

• you have relevant professional experience and/or educational background in data engineering or a related field

• you have excellent communication skills in English to engage effectively with a global team

• a gross annual salary for 38.5 hours per week from EUR 36,500 - the actual salary is based on the current market and takes qualifications and experience into account
