Product Safety Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

• Demonstrate and apply the safety methodologies, for example: ALARP, risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, safety verification and safety validations.  

• Be the interface with the customer, project, or engineering teams for standard compliance to safety.   

• Perform functional Safety Hazard Analysis (SHA) and Interface Hazard Analysis (IHA) under the guidance of the RAMS or safety expert.

• Perform safety verification activities and process reviews for products/system/ project management.          

• Authoring Safety documents and the Safety Case demonstration to ISA / Railway Authorities.

• Participate in the Requirement, Design, and Implementation Impact Analysis.

• Be part of safety demonstration by closing possible findings of the assessors (External) or customer queries for RAMS. 

• Ensure safety of the modifications made during the project change requests and control configuration management for safety programs.

• Contribute to innovative projects.

• Safety Related Application Condition (SRAC) management and demonstration.

Technical Competencies

• Application of Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) analysis and Safety assurance.

• Knowledge of Railway Signalling, rolling stock vehicles and maintenance.

• Safety process compliance to CENELEC EN50126, EN50129 or IEC 61508, EN50128 or EN50716, EN50159.

• Qualitative and/or Quantitative Risk Analysis, RAMS prediction, calculation methods and tools. Ex: FMEA, FMECA, FTA, Markov’s Analysis, etc..

• Electrical and/or electronic and/or Functional System Engineering applied to Railway Signalling products.

• Safety Related Application Condition (SRAC) management and demonstration.

Fluent in English communication.

Education

• Master or Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunication)  

Experience

• 5 - 8 years’ experience.
